Hawthorne Elementary is located in a progressive suburb of Ladner near Highway 17, north of Ladner Trunk Road.  Our school is fortunate to be located next to a large park.  In our school, you will find about 470 friendly co-operative children, along with a dedicated team of teachers and support staff.  Our Principal is Ms. Fisher, a dedicated instructional leader.  Mrs. von Schulmann, our Vice-Principal, is a strong advocate for inclusion and has been instrumental in the creation of our sensory room. Our school takes pride in having a very active and supportive parent community.  Family members assist with reading, helping in the school library, preparing student lunches, and fundraising.  By offering many activities, including team sports, band, peer helpers, and field trips, we enrich the education of our students.  The School’s Code of Conduct is:  Take Care of Yourself, Take Care of Others, Take Care of This Place.  The positive and inclusive climate in our school is due to the efforts and time given by staff and families, working together, to create a positive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of our students.
